Zak Nugent

CEO

Zak Nugent is the Chief Executive Officer of Scalar and has been involved in all phases of the firm’s development since joining in 2009. He has overseen thousands of valuation engagements for tax, financial reporting, transaction advisory, and litigation consulting purposes. Zak has provided valuation consulting to management teams and boards of directors for deferred compensation, purchase price accounting, mergers and acquisitions, capital fundraising, secondary transactions, equity buybacks, shareholder disputes, and succession planning. Zak currently sits on the board of directors for Excalibur Industries, Inc. Zak received his Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Utah. He also holds the Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) credential from the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts.

Cheryl Provard

Director of Finance

Cheryl Provard is our Director of Finance and has been with Scalar since 2011. She oversees the Accounting Department team handling all aspects of the Company’s Accounting. She also manages HR and Payroll. Previous to Scalar, she worked with Green River Companies as the Accounting Manager for a 7000+ acre commercial farm as well as wrapped up the final accounting of the South Mountain Master Development in Draper, UT. In her personal time, she loves to spend time with her family, hiking and exploring in the Utah mountains.

Luis Coronel

Director

Luis joined Scalar in 2009 and leads Scalar’s team of analysts in Argentina. Luis has valued and overseen more than 3,000 company valuations for purposes related to estate and tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, deferred compensation, raising capital, and shareholder disputes. Luis graduated from the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University with an MBA and emphasis in Finance. Luis is also a National Public Accountant from UNL National University in Argentina.

Matt Tillotson

Managing Partner

Matt Tillotson oversees all valuation and transaction advisory engagements as the Managing Partner at Scalar. He has valued thousands of companies, ranging from pre-revenue startups to pre-IPO and public entities across various industries for tax, compliance, litigation, and estate planning purposes. Matt has served as a valuation expert witness for bankruptcy and corporate litigation. He has also performed fund valuations for private and public PE funds. Matt graduated cum laude with a degree in finance from the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University and he was the recipient of the 2015 National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts 40 Under 40 award.

Kendra Morrey

Associate

Kendra Morrey joined Scalar as a Valuation Associate after interning with the firm. As an intern, she assisted with 409A, purchase price allocation (ASC 805), portfolio (ASC 820), and enterprise valuations. She is now responsible for assisting clients in transaction and advisory engagements. Before coming to Scalar, she worked at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in the Business Development & Analysis group. Kendra graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the Marriott School at Brigham Young University. Outside of Scalar, Kendra enjoys baking, attending dance classes, and travelling with her husband.

Taylor Jackson

Director

Taylor Jackson is a Director at Scalar and is responsible for overseeing the firm’s valuation and transaction advisory engagements. Taylor has fulfilled on and managed more than 1,000 valuation engagements, including venture capital and private equity portfolios, mergers and acquisitions, raising capital, deferred compensation, shareholder disputes, financial reporting, and estate and tax planning. Taylor came to Scalar with previous experience in the venture capital and asset management industries. Taylor holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University. He is also a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) and a member of the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts.

Nate Hancock

Director

Nate Hancock joined the Scalar team in 2014 and is a Director responsible for valuation and transaction advisory engagements. Nate has valued and overseen hundreds of company valuations for purposes related to estate and tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, deferred compensation, raising capital, and shareholder disputes. Nate graduated summa cum laude from the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance. Nate is Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Jameson Jenkins

Director

Jameson Jenkins is a Director at Scalar and has valued more than 1,000 companies for purposes related to mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, estate and tax planning, special purpose acquisition companies, venture capital and private equity portfolios, and raising capital. Jameson has a Master of Science in Finance from the University of Utah. Jameson also holds a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) credential from the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts.

Constanza Bertona

Analyst

Constanza Bertona joined Scalar’s team in 2010 as a Valuation Analyst. She specializes in 409A, enterprise, and tax valuations and also works with mergers & acquisitions, venture capital, and private equity portfolio valuations. Prior to Scalar, Constanza worked for the Belgium fashion retailer C&A as a Credit Analyst. She holds a Statistics degree from Universidad Nacional del Litoral in Argentina, an Associate degree in Business Management from Brigham Young Idaho University, and she is pursuing a Bachelor in Business Management with a minor in Finance.

Steve Lindsley

Vice President

Steve Lindsley is a Vice President responsible for the growth and business development at Scalar. Steve originally joined Scalar in 2017 as an Associate managing special projects and completing valuation and transaction advisory engagements in collaboration with Scalar’s executive team. Prior to joining Scalar, Steve worked at Nu Skin Enterprises in Investor Relations, accountable for communicating investment messages between the investment community on behalf of a company. Steve received a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Utah Valley University.

Jen Davidson

Principal

Jen Davidson is a Principal in Scalar’s Los Angeles office and is responsible for overseeing valuation and transaction advisory engagements. Over her career, Jen has managed and participated in hundreds of valuation engagements for purposes including, financial and tax reporting (including gift and estate), litigation support, collateralization, restructuring, mergers and acquisition (due diligence), and strategic planning purposes. Prior to joining Scalar in 2018, Jen held leadership positions with RSM US LLP, Mesirow Financial, KPMG LLP, Navigant Consulting, Inc., and Deloitte. Jen holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration in Finance from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University. Jen is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) in the business valuation discipline of the American Society of Appraisers. She also holds the Certified in Entity and Intangible Valuations™(CEIV™) credential designation issued by the American Society of Appraisers.

Florencia Alonso

Team Lead

Florencia Alonso joined the Scalar team in 2013 and is a Senior Analyst responsible for valuation and transaction advisory engagements. Florencia has participated in more than 500 company valuations for purposes related to estate and tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, deferred compensation, raising capital, and shareholder disputes. Florencia graduated from Universidad Nacional de Cordoba with an M.B.A. and a graduate degree in Taxation. Florencia is also a National Public Accountant who graduated summa cum laude from UES Siglo 21 University in Argentina and she holds the Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) credential from the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts.

Cory Jacobs

Vice President

Cory Jacobs joined Scalar in 2011 and is a Vice President responsible for the growth and business development at Scalar with a key focus in Texas, San Francisco, and Colorado. Prior to joining Scalar, Cory held positions as an Investment Adviser at Foresight Wealth Management and a Senior Account Manager at America Home Today. When Cory isn’t spending time with his four kids at baseball games or dance recitals, you’ll likely find him on the golf course or in the mountains.

Matt Fix

Vice President

Matt Fix is a Vice President at Scalar with extensive experience in fairness opinions, equity and enterprise valuations for raising venture capital and private equity, deferred compensation valuations for compliance with IRC 409A, complex financial instrument valuations for compliance with ASC 815, gift and estate tax planning, and portfolio valuations for tax and financial reporting purposes. Prior to joining Scalar, Matt worked for Tower Hill Trading in Chicago trading US equities. Matt graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and holds a Master of Finance degree from the University of Utah. Matt also holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute.

Dan Foster

Principal

Dan Foster joined the Scalar team in 2015 and is a Principal responsible for valuation, litigation support, and transaction advisory engagements. Dan has valued more than 500 companies for purposes related to financial reporting, estate and tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, and raising capital. Prior to joining Scalar, Dan worked as a Global Sector Research Analyst at Comerica Bank, covering healthcare and utility stocks for Comerica’s proprietary equity strategies. Dan graduated manga cum laude with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance from Eastern Michigan University.

Matías Visoná

Senior Analyst

Matías Visoná is a Senior Analyst at Scalar where he is responsible for valuation and transaction advisory engagements. Matías has valued more than 600 company valuations for purposes related to estate and tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, deferred compensation, raising capital, and shareholder disputes. Matías graduated from the Economic Sciences College at UNC National University. He is currently pursuing a Masters in Finance at the San Andres University.

Ray Smego

Vice President

Ray Smego came to Scalar in 2016 and has experience with complex financial instrument valuations for compliance with ASC 815, deferred compensation valuations for compliance with IRC 409A, gift and estate tax planning, portfolio valuations for compliance with ASC 820, fairness opinions, and valuation consulting for raising venture capital and private equity. Prior to joining Scalar, Ray was a Portfolio Manager at an investment advisory firm where he was responsible for the day-to-day trading and management of client portfolios. Ray also previously worked at First Southwest Company, Jackson National Life Insurance Company, and Oppenheimer Funds. Ray graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Arts and is also a Certified Financial Planner. He is also a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) and a member of the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts.

Luz Visconti

Senior Analyst

Luz Visconti joined Scalar in 2016 and is a Senior Analyst responsible for valuation transaction advisory engagements. Over her career, Luz has participated in more than 500 company valuations for purposes related to estate and tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, deferred compensation, raising capital, and shareholder disputes. Prior to joining Scalar, Luz worked in several industries, including Real Estate and Market Research. Luz is a licensed National Public Accountant (NPA), has a Specialization in Corporate Finance from the ICDA Business School, and holds a Business Intelligence Diploma from the National Technological University of Argentina.

Matt Scott

Senior Associate

Matt Scott is a Senior Associate at Scalar who is responsible for valuation and transaction advisory engagements. Matt specializes in deferred compensation valuation, venture capital and private equity portfolio valuation, gift and estate tax planning, and enterprise valuations. Prior to working at Scalar, Matt worked as a Compliance Assistant for State Bank of Southern Utah. He graduated summa cum laude from Southern Utah University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and a minor in Economics and was awarded Outstanding Senior in Finance. Matt also holds the Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) credential from the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts.

Kathy Jardine

Analyst

Kathy Jardine joined Scalar in early 2020 as an Analyst and is responsible for supporting the sales team with client engagements and deliverable fulfillment. Prior to Scalar, Kathy provided customer care and executive assistant services as an independent contractor for over a decade. In her free time, Kathy enjoys road trips, home improvement projects, and spending time with her family.

Cameron Irby

Senior Associate

Cameron is a Senior Associate at Scalar who is responsible for valuation and transaction advisory engagements. Cameron has valued hundreds of companies for purposes related to mergers and acquisitions, deferred compensation, financial reporting, gift and estate tax planning, and raising venture capital. These companies have ranged from pre-revenue startups to publicly traded entities. While attending college, Cameron was the president of the Finance Club and led a team to compete nationally in the CFA Research Challenge. Cameron graduated from the Gore School of Business at Westminster College with a B.S. in Finance and in Marketing. Cameron also holds a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) credential from the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts.

Jared Christian

Vice President

Jared is a Vice President at Scalar who is responsible for valuation and transaction advisory engagements. Jared has valued more than 700 companies for purposes related to estate and tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, special purpose acquisition companies, and raising capital. Jared graduated from the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University with a B.S. in Finance. Jared holds the Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) credential from the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts.

Gabriel Acosta

Analyst

Gabriel Acosta is an Analyst at Scalar where he is responsible for valuation and transaction advisory engagements. Gabriel has participated in more than 300 company valuations for purposes related to estate and tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, deferred compensation, and raising capital. Prior to joining Scalar, he worked as a consultant for Novix, an international consulting firm. Gabriel graduated from the Economic Sciences College at UNC National University with a degree in Economics.

David Hales

Vice President

David Hales is a Vice President at Scalar responsible for business development and growth in the Pacific Northwest. David joined Scalar as a valuation associate assisting clients in transaction advisory engagements and valuations for compliance with IRC 409A. During this time, he also collaborated alongside Scalar’s executive team on special projects and strategic growth initiatives. Prior to joining Scalar, David gained professional experience working as a Senior Associate at the University Growth Fund in Salt Lake City, interning at TA Associates in Menlo Park, and working as a Junior Financial Analyst at DigiCert, Inc.
David attended the University of Utah where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Economics and participated in the University of Utah Finance club and the Utah Freeskier Society.

Barrett Johnson

Senior Associate

Barrett Johnson has been a Senior Associate at Scalar since 2017 and is responsible for valuation and transaction advisory engagements. Barrett has fulfilled engagements that include venture capital and private equity portfolios, mergers and acquisitions, raising capital, deferred compensation, financial reporting, estate and tax planning, shareholder disputes, and goodwill impairment testing. Barrett attended Westminster College where he graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. Outside of Scalar, Barrett enjoys skiing, golfing, and spending time with his family, friends, and his chocolate lab, Molly.

Ryan Parker

Advisor

Ryan Parker is the CFO of Mercato partners and is a Valuation Advisor for Scalar. Prior to joining Mercato Partners in 2017, Ryan was a Principal at Scalar where he acted as primary valuation specialist on topics including stock compensation, purchase price allocation in business combinations, and fair value disclosures. Ryan has also held such positions as VP of Regulatory Reporting at Synchrony Financial, Accounting and Finance Manager at Cadence Consulting, and Senior Auditor at Ernst & Young. Ryan received his Master of Accountancy from the University of Utah and is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV).

Denise Jardine

Vice President

Denise Jardine joined Scalar in early 2018 as an Analyst and is now a Vice President. Denise is responsible for the growth and business development at Scalar. Prior to Scalar, Denise provided customer care and executive assistant services as an independent contractor for nearly a decade. Denise graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University. When she is not in the office, Denise enjoys traveling, reading, hiking, and spending time with her husband and two children.

Dalton Anderson

Senior Associate

Dalton Anderson is a Senior Associate at Scalar who is responsible for assisting clients with transaction and advisory engagements. In his time at Scalar, Dalton has fulfilled on over 250 engagements for purposes such as complex financial instrument valuations (ASC 815), portfolio valuations (ASC 820), deferred compensation valuations (IRC 409a), post-acquisition purchase price allocations (ASC 805), fairness opinions, and valuation consulting for raising institutional capital and shareholder buyouts. Before coming to Scalar, he worked for Goldman Sachs, Select Portfolio Servicing, and BYU Global Financial Advisors. Dalton received a Bachelor of Science in Finance with an emphasis in Asset Management from Brigham Young University. Dalton holds the Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) designation and is a member of the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts. Outside of Scalar, Dalton enjoys spending time with his wife and two Pomeranians, playing sports, and being in the outdoors.

Mahina (Bantilan) Kunz

Associate

Mahina joined Scalar in May 2019 as an intern and is now a Valuation Associate. She is responsible for valuation and transaction advisory engagements. She has experience valuing private companies for the purpose of tax planning, deferred compensation, financial reporting, and general consulting. Prior to joining Scalar, Mahina worked at Cardinal Health, Intermountain Healthcare, and Brigham Young University in various business-related positions and internships. Mahina holds a Bachelor of Science, Finance degree from Brigham Young University, where she served in leadership positions with Corporate Finance Club, Women in Finance Club, Women in Business Club, and the Student Advisory Council. Outside of Scalar, Mahina enjoys hiking, running, and baking.

Kayla Belnap

Senior Associate

Kayla Belnap joined Scalar as a Valuation Associate after interning with the firm and is responsible for valuation and transaction advisory engagements. Kayla has performed hundreds of valuations for purposes related to deferred compensation, financial reporting, gift and estate tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, raising venture capital, goodwill impairment, and consulting. These companies are industry agnostic and range from pre-revenue startups to publicly traded entities. Kayla received a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the Marriott School at Brigham Young University. Kayla also holds a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) credential from the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts. Kayla enjoys rock climbing, mountain biking, and skiing in her free time.

Jordan Volz

Vice President

Jordan Volz is a Vice President and has valued more than 500 companies for purposes related to estate and tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, special purpose acquisition companies, and raising capital. Prior to Scalar, Jordan held positions with Union Bank, Grant Thorton, and Fidelity Investments. Jordan is a CPA in the state of California and previously held his FINRA Series 7, 63, 9, and 10 licenses. Jordan graduated with a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Utah. Jordan also holds the Master Analyst of Financial Forensics credential.

Christian Sorensen

Senior Associate

Christian Sorensen joined Scalar in 2018 and is responsible for assisting clients with valuation and transaction advisory engagements. Christian has experience valuing private companies for the purpose of tax planning, deferred compensation, financial reporting, and general consulting. Prior to Scalar, he worked as a real estate analyst where he specialized in valuing properties for acquisition and fund management. Christian graduated Cum Laude from Brigham Young University with a B.S. in Finance. He is also a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) and a member of the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts. Outside of Scalar, you will often find him spending time with his family and enjoying the outdoors–skiing, hiking, or mountain biking.

Will Christensen

Associate

Will Christensen is an associate at Scalar who is responsible for assisting clients with transaction and advisory engagements. Will has valued private companies for tax planning, deferred compensation, financial reporting, and valuation consulting purposes. Prior to Scalar, Will worked as an analyst at Cottonwood Residential, a private REIT specializing in multifamily apartments. Will graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the Marriott School of Business at Brigham Young University. In his spare time Will enjoys spending time with family, reading, skiing, and mountain biking.

Genia Bruce

Staff Accountant

Genia Bruce joined Scalar as Staff Accountant and oversees Scalar’s accounting processes and functions, including invoicing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and collections. Prior to joining Scalar, Genia was the Bookkeeper for CRM Healthy Vending LLC where she created and managed all bookkeeping processes and business functions for the LLC. Genia has 14 years of banking experience in various capacities and served 10 years as an elected official for Wisconsin County Government.

Martin Peretti Ricart

Senior Analyst

Martin joined Scalar in 2017 and is a Senior Analyst responsible for valuation and transaction advisory engagements. Prior to joining Scalar, he worked as Senior Manager at Thira S.R.L. Martin is a licensed National Public Accountant (NPA) from Unversidad Católica de Córdoba. He has a specialization degree in Project Management from the University of Arlington Texas and is currently working towards his specialization degree in Corporate Finance & Stock Markets from the Universidad Siglo 21. He is also fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.

Porter Haddock

Associate

Porter Haddock joined Scalar in 2020 as an associate who is responsible for assisting clients with transaction and advisory engagements. He has experience valuing private companies for the purposes of tax planning, deferred compensation, financial reporting, and general consulting. Before coming to Scalar, Porter worked as an analyst at Delta-v Capital, a growth equity firm based out of Boulder, CO. Porter graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the Marriott School of Business at Brigham Young University. In his spare time, Porter enjoys reading, watching sports, and water skiing.

Nicolas Beltramini

Analyst

Nicolás joined Scalar in August 2020 as an Analyst. He assists the valuation team with 409A and enterprise valuations. Nicolás is a licensed National Public Accountant from UNC National University in Argentina. He is also a Certified Financial Adviser from the Argentine Institute of Financial Executives and is currently pursuing the CFA designation from the CFA Institute. Prior to joining Scalar, he worked for 6 years as Head of Taxes at Cargo Group, a national economic group primarily involved in the fields of logistics and transportation. Previously, he worked for more than three years as a Tax Analyst at Holcim Argentina, a member of the LafargeHolcim group.

Francisco Pecchioni

Analyst

Francisco Pecchioni joined Scalar in 2019 and is an Analyst responsible for valuation and transaction advisory engagements. Francisco is a licensed National Public Accountant (CPN) who graduated from Universidad Nacional de Cordoba. Prior to joining Scalar, he was a Senior Auditor at IMR SA, a payments management company. He is pursuing his specialization degree in Corporate Finance & Stock Markets from UE Siglo 21 University in Argentina. He is also fluent in French and Italian.

Leila Cardus

Analyst

Leila Cardús joined Scalar in late 2019 in an Analyst role and assists our business development team. Prior to joining Scalar, Leila performed administrative tasks at a nonprofit organization and translated live speeches and interviews on various occasions.

In her spare time, she enjoys singing with her cousins, doing yoga, walking, and dancing.

Micaela Rivarola

Analyst

Micaela joined Scalar in September 2020 as an Analyst. She assists the valuation team with 409A and enterprise valuations. Micaela holds a degree in Business Administration from UE Siglo 21 University. She graduated summa cum laude in 2012 and has also completed studies related to family businesses and financial management. Prior to joining Scalar, Micaela worked as a Treasury Manager for RODE, a construction and real estate firm in Cordoba, and as Treasury Analyst for other small businesses in Cordoba. She is also a member of the Woman in Economics and Finance Association in Cordoba, an organization that promotes financial education and inclusion.

She’s a mother of two and loves to spend time with her family and travel. In her free time, she enjoys watching series and reading.

McKay Jenkins

Associate

McKay Jenkins is responsible for assisting Scalar’s CEO in matters of business development, recruiting, human resources, and implementing business strategy. McKay attended the University of Utah where he received a Bachelor of Psychology with an emphasis in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. He then attended New York University where he received a Master of Human Resource Management & Development with an emphasis in Organizational Effectiveness.

Jose Banda

Full Stack Developer

Jose joined Scalar in October 2020 as a Full Stack Developer specialized in ReactJs and Django. Since 2014, he has worked as a Developer for local companies, both as a freelancer and employee.
Jose is soon to complete his course of study in Information Systems Engineering at the National Technological University, Córdoba Regional Faculty (UTN, FRC), Argentina.

In his spare time, he enjoys playing basketball, mountain biking, and swimming.

Krista Kikumoto

Vice President

Krista Kikumoto is a Vice President responsible for the growth and business development at Scalar with a key focus on the Colorado and Illinois markets. Krista’s prior experience includes working with clients as a CPA focused on high-net-worth clients and closely held businesses with a concentration in gift and estate tax. She has also provided valuation consulting to management teams and boards of directors for deferred compensation. Krista also previously worked in mergers and acquisition investment banking for Merrill Lynch and later at a boutique investment bank focused on middle-market transactions. Krista is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Gabriel Cánepa

Full Stack Developer

Gabriel joined Scalar in November 2020 as a full-stack software developer. He is a Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator, has a computer programming certificate from BYU-Idaho, and is about to complete a double associate degree in software development and systems analysis from the Universidad Nacional de Villa Mercedes (UNViMe). Prior to joining Scalar, Gabriel worked as a developer and service operations lead for 10 years for Arido Software, a major Procter & Gamble provider.

In his spare time, Gabriel enjoys reading Stephen R. Covey’s books, playing the piano and guitar, and teaching programming skills to his two daughters.

Adam Otterson

Associate

Adam Otterson joined Scalar in 2021 as a Valuation Associate after interning with the firm and is responsible for assisting clients with transaction and advisory engagements. Before coming to Scalar, Adam worked as an Associate at University Growth Fund, a technology-focused growth equity firm based out of Salt Lake City, UT, and as a Summer Analyst for Koch Equity Development, the acquisitions and investment arm of Koch Industries. Adam graduated from the Marriott School of Business at Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance with a Minor in Philosophy. Kyle Berkowitz

Associate

Kyle Berkowitz is responsible for assisting with 409A, Purchase Price Allocations (ASC 805), portfolio valuations for compliance with ASC 820, gift and estate tax planning, enterprise valuations, and assisting clients in transaction and advisory engagements. Prior to joining Scalar, Kyle worked for Intech Investment Management, LLC in West Palm Beach, FL, where he managed the Trading Operations department. Kyle graduated from Florida State University with dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Finance and Real Estate. Kyle holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of North Florida and a Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute.

Micah Black

Associate

Micah Black is responsible for assisting clients with transaction and advisory engagements.  Before coming to Scalar, Micah worked as a Summer Analyst as part of the REIT team for Keystone National, a Private Equity firm based out of Salt Lake City, Utah.  Micah graduated from the Marriott School of Business at Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance.

McCoy Hill

Vice President

McCoy Hill is a Vice President responsible for business growth and development. Prior to Scalar, McCoy worked in the assurance/advisory department of a Salt Lake City based public accounting firm. His experience includes financial reporting and transaction advisory work with a wide range of clients in multiple industries including technology, SAAS, Manufacturing, Fintech, etc. McCoy received his Masters of Accounting Degree at Southern Utah University and holds a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.

Sara D’Agostino Burke

Associate

Sara D’Agostino Burke joined Scalar as a Valuation Associate in 2021 after interning with the firm and is responsible for assisting clients with transaction and advisory engagements. Prior to joining Scalar, Sara worked as a Financial Analyst at Goldman Sachs in their Private Banking division. Sara earned a Master of Science in Finance from the University of Utah in 2021 and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Westminster College in 2019. During her undergraduate years, she also worked as an Associate at the University Growth Fund. During her free time, Sara enjoys skiing, reading, and traveling.
